David A. Cohen is the co-founder of Karlin Real Estate and the President of Karlin Asset Management, which he founded in 2005. Mr. Cohen has over 20 years of experience in principal investing, real estate, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. For nine (9) years, Mr. Cohen held a variety of senior executive positions with Dole (NYSE) and Pacific Holdings, which is comprised of over 25 operating companies, had revenues of over $7 billion and was recognized as one of largest US private companies. He reported directly to the Chairman and CEO of both companies and was responsible for the organization's investments (public and private) and strategy, and completed over 40 transactions representing value of over $3.5 billion. He also served as a Principal in an alternative investment firm with assets of more than $16 billion (acquired by Blackrock). He started his career as an investment banker at Lazard Frères. During his career Mr. Cohen has led numerous large real estate and mortgage portfolio transactions included two IPO’s on the NYSE and two privatization transactions of NYSE companies. David holds a Master's Degree in Finance with honors from Cambridge University and completed all coursework for a PhD. He attended graduate school at Sydney University (Australia) as a Rotary Foundation Scholar, and holds a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Sciences summa cum laude from Boston University.
